WHAT THE LAB IS
New behaviors are not created through new insights. They are created through new experiences.
That is the whole design. The lab is interactive from the first minute to the last, because you cannot talk someone into showing up differently. You have to give them the experience of doing it. The day is led by a conservatory-trained facilitator. You work out loud, in the room, with other people.
You will also watch the measurement work. One volunteer pair has a real conversation in front of the room, scored live.

THE PROOF LAYER
The Listening Quality Index
We score how your people listen, on site, in the room. The Listening Quality Index records a real practice conversation and measures it against published listening benchmarks used in peer-reviewed research, then hands each person a private report with one specific next rep to run.
The counted measures are exact. The judgment measures are shown as soft bands, not exact scores, and the report says so on its own face.
Individual Listening Quality Index reports are an add-on to private engagements and are not included in the Open Lab seat. What you see on October 1 is the live demonstration.

Michael Cinquino
Michael Cinquino is the founder of the Communication Dynamics Lab. His purpose and his hope are the same: that anyone who comes into contact with him, or with his work, feels at least a little less alone. Less alone in who they are, in what they are feeling, and in what they are not.
The belief underneath the Lab is that new behaviors are not created through new insights. They are created through new experiences. Understanding a problem is rarely enough to change it, and we have never been asked to be more performative than we are right now. The meeting that is somehow also an audition. The pitch that is somehow also a screen test. Most people are good at what they do and quietly exhausted by the version of themselves they run while doing it. The cost is trust, and trust does not arrive from polish. It arrives from presence.
We cannot insight our way into presence. We have to experience our way into it. That is the whole reason the Lab looks the way it does.
